KLiKK’s latest release, “Pilkunj,” directed by Arnab Riingo Banerjee, is a series based on real events that took place in India in the year 2017, where a scam was taking place in a small village next to a tiger reserve where elders would be sent to the reserve to be killed by the tigers, and then after the killing, the bodies were thrown away to the neighbouring paddy fields, and then the villagers would ask for compensation from the government. They would get 8–10 lakh per kill. The way it was all planned is that every time somebody in Pilkunj got married, the dowry system would say that normally the woman’s family pays the dowry, but in this case, this village has another condition. A journalist travels from Kolkata in disguise to break this news, but he gets caught. He was thrown into the jungle to be consumed by the tigers. This is the story that follows the adventures of Siddhartha (nickname Sid) and his survival. On his adventure, he meets the young doctor girl who teams up with him. Together, Sid and the doctor unravel the intricate web of lies spun by the villagers. Their alliance becomes a beacon of hope as they strive to expose the truth to the world beyond Pilkunj’s confines. A relentless pursuit ensues, pitting two against an entire village steeped in malevolence. Amidst a backdrop of danger and deception, their courage and ingenuity are put to the ultimate test. Now the question is: together, these two versus the entire village, can they outlive it? Can they expose the story? “Pilkunj Unveiled” weaves a gripping narrative of survival and morality as Sid and his steadfast companion strive to expose a shocking conspiracy while navigating a treacherous landscape. Their journey is a testament to the indomitable spirit of those who dare to confront evil head-on, with the hope that justice and truth will ultimately prevail.
