Actor Natalie Portman and husband-choreographer Benjamin Millepied have separated after being married for 11 years. The split speculation began on their 11th wedding anniversary (August 4), when Natalie was seen without her wedding ring during an event in Australia.
Natalie and Benjamin’s relationship now
Us Weekly quoted an insider as saying, “After news of his affair came out, they’ve been trying to work on their marriage but are currently on the outs.” They share two children – son Aleph (12) and daughter Amalia (6). As per the report, rumours started in June that Benjamin was having an affair with climate activist Camille Etienne.
In June, an insider had told Us Weekly that Natalie believed ‘Benjamin’s affair was a brief and stupid liaison that means nothing to him’ and she was ‘willing to see if she’s capable of rebuilding her trust’ in him to make sure that their kids don’t ‘grow up in a broken home’. Quoting another source it had reported that the duo was then ‘talking and working on it together for the sake of their children’ adding that Benjamin regretted his actions.
In June, People had quoted a source on Benjamin’s affair, which said, “It was short-lived and it is over… He knows he made an enormous mistake and he is doing all he can to get Natalie to forgive him and keep their family together. Natalie is incredibly private and has no intention of playing this out in the media. Her biggest priority is protecting her children and their privacy.”
