In the latest Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11 promo, Tanishaa Mukerji remarks on not being a star like her sister Kajol or brother-in-law Ajay Devgn. Here’s the reaction from netizens.
When two celebrities from the same family enter the film industry as actors, it isn’t necessary that both of them achieve the same success. There have been many instances when one sibling became far more popular than the other. One such example is Kajol, who climbed the ladder of success to the very top, and her younger sister Tanishaa Mukerji. The latter did garner fame and praise for her participation in Bigg Boss 7 and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 7. Well, Tanishaa is now all set to burn the dance floor as a contestant on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11.
Netizen’s reaction
The first promo of the much awaited dance reality show has now surfaced on social media. In this short clip, we get a glimpse of Tanishaa’s energetic performance on Laila Main Laila with her choreographer partner Tarun Raj Nihalini. While Malaika Arora cheers for her from the judges’ panel, Farah Khan calls her a star. However, Tanishaa doesn’t accept the term ‘star’. In the video, she says, “Meri family mein Ajay Devgn, Kajol sab stars hain. Main woh mukaam tak nahi pohonchi. I’m not a star.” Well, netizens had mixed reactions to this emotional promo.
In the comment section below, some lauded Tanishaa and called her a star. But there were many who brutally trolled her and accused her of using a sympathy card. For instance, one netizen asked: “Why she’s playing a victim here ?”, whereas another social media user wrote, “Just a reminder u r late Tanisha, ye sab 10 saal pehle chalta tha “Sympathy card” ab nahi chalta.” A third netizen wrote: “Kya overactress hai aur kitni jealous hai ye apne hi logo se hmesha kajol se ladti hui hi dikhti hai”, while another nasty comment read: “Agar acting achi kar leti to jarur bnti star.”
Apart from Tanishaa, the other celebrity contestants who will dance their hearts out on the stage this year are Aamir Ali, Shiv Thakare, Shoaib Ibrahim, Urvashi Dholakia, Vivek Dahiya and Anjali Anand. The show premieres on 11th November. Who are you rooting for?
