Janhvi recently disclosed her deficiency in PR skills and shared that she was told, “There is bad marketing but no bad film.”

Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor have received a fair share of appreciation for their performance in Nitesh Tiwari’s Bawaal. Released on the OTT platform, the film, however, faced flak for comparing World War II horrific crime scenes to relationship problems. In a recent media interaction, both the actors with the director defended the film saying that their intentions were always pure.

Janhvi & Varun’s views about PR

In the same media interaction, the actors opened up about their views on PR and the marketing of the films. Talking about it, Janhvi said she majorly lacks in PR and someone told her that there is bad marketing but no bad film. Further, Varun made her reveal the most insecure thing she had done to promote her film. To which, Janhvi honestly stated, “So I did this film Mili, and I got a lot of great reviews and a lot of appreciation for my performance. But I didn’t perform well at all at the box office. So I was being told that take what you can from it. And then they would make these creatives of people saying a lot of positive things about just the performance,” she told Pinkvilla.

“And they are okay that let’s just plaster this everywhere so that people forget that it only earned negligible amounts of money at the box office and people remember the good reviews which is great. It makes complete logical sense. It’s what you do I mean we are not lying it’s the truth. But I think to get your brain to work in that way there’s like 10 per cent bikau nature to what should be a very sacred art form,” she added. Nitesh lauded her statement, “Very very well said.”
