The much-anticipated film “King of Kotha” is set to release in theaters this Onam.

The production of Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming gangster movie has finally wrapped. The film began production in September 2022 and entered post-production in February 2023 but had undergone reshoots. The movie will be hitting the big screen this Onam is expected to battle it out with Mohanlal’s spy-thriller Ram for the top spot at the box office.

The movie is dictorial debut of Abhilash Joshiy

The movie marks the directorial debut of Abhilash Joshiy, the son of veteran director Joshiy. The film is produced by Dulquer Salmaan under the banner of Wayfarer Films, in association with ZEE Studios. The cinematography will be handled by Nimish Ravi and the music is composed by Jakes Bejoy. The movie boasts an ensemble cast that includes Gokul Suresh, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Chemban Vinod Jose, and Shammi Thilakan.

Tovino Thomas will also have a cameo in the movie. While details on who or what the Minnal Murali star will be playing in the movie are a mystery, rumors are floating around that it may be something similar to Suriya’s appearance as Rolex on Vikram.

Mohanlal’s Ram is directed bu Jeethu Joseph

As for Mohanlal’s Ram, the movie is directed by Drishiyam director Jeethu Joseph who has a great track record with Mohanlal. Trisha Krishnan will be playing the role of Mohanlal’s wife Dr. Vineetha. This will be the actress’s second Malayalam movie after 2018’s Hey Jude in which acted alongside Nivin Pauly. Joining Mohanlal and Trisha the rest of the cast includes Indrajith Sukumaran, Sai Kumar, Siddique, Adil Hussain, Durga Krishna, Suresh Chandra Menon, and Leona Lishoy.

King of Kotha will be hitting theaters on August 24, 2023.
